IRAKLI takes Beijing
IRAKLI was invited to participate at the 4th edition of the Beijing Night of Fashion.
This event, organized by the Chinese Government in collaboration with public and private corporations served to showcase China's future projects and leading design from around the world.
This year theme was Upcoming Future: Our dress finale, the wedding dress seen below, is a testament to the potentiality of the future. Hand sewn from early 1900s laces, whose original purpose was teapots covers got repurpose to act as the base of a wedding dress. These laces from another era were brought and combined to life through modern technics. They are a bridge thrown across time, celebrating the French heritage and craftmanship while ushering a new era of upcycling and modern purpose:
The gown was a thin veil of silk, hand-painted by Irakli Nasidzé and flairing down as the tail-end of a bird.
